Fitzhugh Lee Autograph Document Signed. One page, 7.75" x 5.75". Head Quarters, 2nd Brigade; August 25, 1861. Lee forwards a dispatch, "’ Enemy reported to be advancing towards ‘Annandale’ – force unknown.’ Copy of a dispatch sent from Gen. Elzey to Gen Ewell a few moments ago – and furnished doe what it is worth to Gen Early." Signed " Fitz Lee" adding his rank and brigade. Fitzhugh Lee was a Confederate cavalry general. He was the son of Confederate Navy Captain Sydney Smith Lee, and the nephew of General Robert E. Lee. Condition: On blue paper, with some discoloration. Light soiling and creasing throughout.
