Robert E. Lee Twice Signed Carte de Visite. 2.25" x 3.75", Lexington; January 21, 1870. Signed on the front, with a second signature and inscription on verso: "Miss Cornelia E. Lee Taylor with the kind regards of R E Lee." Image has been hand-colored adding blue to the background and Lee’s shirt, and a touch of red to his cheeks. Condition: Mount has been trimmed, slightly touching the "M" in "Miss." Light soiling throughout, with a crease to the albumen at the top left corner and a slight bulge along the bottom edge.
