5 Chinese Wucai Plates, 19th Century

A set of five Chinese wucai plates dating from the 19th century. The interior of each plate is decorated with a vase holding flowers, which is surrounded by a ruyi-shaped border with lotuses. The exterior of each plate is decorated with three flower motifs.

Dimensions are: 3/4 inches tall X 8 inches wide, 1.9 cm X 20.3 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: One plate has a chip to the exterior. Three plates have chipping to the rim. One plate is in overall good condition. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is. Provenance: From the private, premier collection of a gentleman in Cleveland, Ohio. The items in the collection were acquired starting in the 1970s from auction houses including Christie's, Sotheby's, and Bonhams, as well as from various private collections in the United States.
