Five English satirical political cartoons. 1) 'Escape of Buonaparte from Elba' Pub by M. Cleary 32 Nassau Street (undated) Condition: Several tears from margin to borders, torn and missing 2" section upper right, 3.25" tear lower left into image. Toning and discolorations. 2) 'The Measure of Happiness, or a Royal visit to the Dey of Tunis or the Great Plempo' publ July 20, 1820 S W Fores 50 Picordill. Condition: Toning and discolorations. 3) 'English Manners and French Prudence or French Dragoons Brought to a Check by a Belvoir Leap. London Pub. 25 November 1818, by H. Humphry (?) James Street. Condition: toning, foxing, fold on left side, 2+" margin torn off right side, cut margins, 5" tear from upper margin to head of first horse on right side. Crease to right side 2" in from edge . 4) 'Property Protected a la Francoise' Pub June 1st 1798 by S W Fores No 50 Piccadilly' Condition: margins cut, toning, discolorations, 5) 'What do you want, Paddy??' London Pub by W Holland N 50 Oxford St April 9th 1798. Condition: Scuff to belly and chest of left side figure, discolorations, toning, Pencil? mark across upper right corner. All wrapped in plastic and on cardboard. Not examined out of wrappings. Contact for more info. Biggest measures 15.50" tall by 19.25" wide and stack at 1".
