Angelus Extremely Rare Tinkler Automatic Quarter Repeater Wristwatch. c.1957 Case: 36mm, stainless steel, two piece case x screw down back Dial: satin silver with applied silver elongated arrows, dashes and "12", pitched dauphine hands Movement: A. Schild caliber 1850, 17 jewel automatic movement (modified for repeating). Band: modern tan leather, stitched strap with generic stainless buckle. Accompanied by a vintage expansion bracelet which was on the watch when received. Will fit up to an 8 inch wrist. Signed: dial, case and movement signed by maker. It's the mid-1950's and while other watch companies were trying figure out how to produce an electric timepiece or at least if and when they should produce an electric timepiece, Angelus decided to produce a quarter hour repeating, automatic wristwatch and they called it "The Tinkler." In retrospect, perhaps, not the best use of the company's resources and perhaps not the best name but it did make for the extremely limited production of one of the oddest wristwatches of the latter half of the 20th century. With less than 100 pieces presumed manufactured and only a handful showing up in the market over the past 20 years, here is your chance to possess the truly elusive Tinkler.
