[ translate ]

American. 1930s. Lithographed cardboard and paper. In 1866 the S.W. Baker Company of Providence, Rhode Island invented the only horse blanket designed to wick moisture away from a sweaty horse. These early advertising posters and ephemera from this firm are rare survivors. Marked, lower left edge of poster. Marked, lower right edge of dangler. Poster: 22.5" x 15.25". Signs: 6" x 27.5". Dangler: 16" Dia.
Condition Report: The paper poster retains the upper and lower steel mounting strips. The poster is restored and has tape reinforcements including a tear halfway up the left edge. The cardboard strip signs are good with minor edge and corner loss. The circular cardboard tacker is partially restored, and is backed with cardboard to stabilize the closed tears to edges.
