Near East, Ancient Anatolian and Persian cultures, Luristan / Achaemenid / Elamite, late Bronze to Iron Age, ca. 2000 to 400 BCE. A collection of cast copper and bronze spear heads that could have been hafted on wooden poles by inserting and wrapping cords around the slender tangs. A nice group of differing types, some slender and others a bit broader with rounded shoulders. Size of largest: 6.25" L x 1.5" W (15.9 cm x 3.8 cm)

Provenance: private Everett, Massachusetts, USA collection acquired from Moufid Antiques & Ancient Coins Florida, USA, 2002; Trinity Antiques, UK, 2014; Zurqieh Ancient Art, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 2015.
