6 pairs of George III silver and bone handled fruit eaters with Royal crests

[ translate ]

6 pairs of George III silver and bone handled fruit eaters with Royal crests, the three tined forks with probable mark of William Chawner II, London 1826 (three with just part marks), the handle with two vertical reinforcing bars, the silver bladed knives with mark of Moses London, London 1814, each blade engraved with the crest of one of the sons of KING GEORGE III, believed to be WILLIAM, the DUKE OF CLARENCE and St ANDREWS (later King William IV), the handle with unmarked silver ferrule Given that George III had seven sons living in 1814 when the knives were hallmarked - all of whom would have had their own distinct version of the Royal crest along with their arms and all of whom were Knights of the Most Noble Order of the Garter - any one of them could have been the original owners. Each crest would have been very slightly different, but unfortunately these examples are too worn to identify the subtle differences and make an absolutely definitive identification as to ownership.
