The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by the Comité André Derain. The lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity dated October 6, 2022, and signed by Geneviève Taillade, grand-niece of the artist. Condition Report: Lined canvas. Finely patterned craquelure throughout, with more pronounced cracking near the edges and in the background. Yellowing to the varnish layer. Frame abrasion and a very few small losses at edges, exposing apparent underpaint, salmon-pink in color. Under UV: heavily applied varnish, drippy in appearance, fluoresces green unevenly. An approximately 1 x 3 inch rectangle of brushy retouching in the lower right corner.Framed Dimensions 22.5 X 20.5 X 2.5 Inches Heritage Auctions strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
