A 7-piece Felipe Derflingher Brutalist "Imprisoned Glass" set is a highly collectible mid-century modern barware ensemble crafted in Mexico City during the 1960s and 1970s. Known also as "caged glass," this artisan technique was popularized by Derflingher through his manufacturing company, Feder. The signature look is achieved by welding a brass or copper cylinder with geometric cutouts, hand-blowing molten recycled glass inside so it bulges through the openings, and then heat-torching the metal to give it a dark, medieval, oxidized finish. These sets were handcrafted and, custom-ordered . A 7-piece Tumbler Set includes : 5 matching hand-blown drinking tumblers (short rocks glasses) and 2 large pouring vessels, tall pitcher and decanter with a removable glass stopper.
