One of the four most appreciated Vietnamese painters, Nguyen Tuong Lan graduated from the Indochina School of Fine Arts in 1933 under the direction of Victor Tardieu (4th class). Mastering several techniques (oil painting, lacquer painting, silk painting, charcoal drawing and wood carving), the artist has created numerous works, few of which have survived to the present day. His paintings, rare in private collections, are in the public collections of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Hanoi.
