Literature

Barber quarters were actually minted from 1892 to 1916, while the coins struck from 1916 to 1930 are known as Standing Liberty quarters. Design: Created by Hermon A. MacNeil, the obverse features a goddess of Liberty stepping forward with a shield and olive branch; the reverse shows a majestic bald eagle in flight.
