Nelkin acquired this work, for $5000. This gold-mounted box in the Nelkin Collection, bears no signature by any maker. The nearly transparent rock crystal panels are of the highest quality, and the diamond-set chased gold frame is clearly by a master goldsmith. Without an original box, and with no hallmarks other than 56 for gold, identification of the maker is difficult.
