Iconic Chrome Judges' Desk Signed by Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, Judges' Chairs, Center Stage Floor and Show Winners Mural Backdrop from American Idol (ABC TV, 2002). Very large and distinctive judges' desk which Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson sat behind during Season 4 episodes of the show. The pieces include: (1) A heavily chromed design features a polished chrome frame, with curved metal and acrylic trim. It has black wood top with silver splatter design and inset cutouts for monitor placement (monitors no longer present). Each of the judges have signed the table top thus: "I hate this desk! Simon Cowell", "Hugs & Kisses!! Paula Abdul", and "The Dawgs Rule, Randy Jackson". Positioned on the front is a large light box with "American Idol" cursive logo. The desk measures approximately 110 in. long x 32 in. tall x 41 in. deep. (2) Three Season 4 rolling judges' chairs in black leather, one of which is signed in silver ink by the three judges, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson, as well as host, Ryan Seacrest. The desk and chairs were acquired by Fremantle Media in March 2005 when they were retired in favor of a newly-designed desk and set. (3) A very large milk acrylic center stage floor, in two large half sections, with the show's name in cursive letters and metallic silver pinstripe decoration. This floor covered the elliptical riser that served as center stage during the performances during Season 4. Some sections of the applied silver trim and inner logo are missing. (4) A very large photo-mural backdrop on eight individual FabriColor panels that attach to a collapsible frame with cross-bracing and magnet-to-magnet mounting. It features four of the show's former winners: Carrie Underwood (Season 4), Jordin Sparks (Season 6), David Cook (Season 7), and Kris Allen (Season 8) and was used in Seasons 8 and 9 of the show. Measures approximately 234 in. long x 93 in. tall x 8 in. deep. The backdrop is stored in the original rigid Rolluxe storage case measuring 41 in. tall x 16 in. x 16 in. Acquired from Fremantle Media. All pieces exhibit wear commensurate with age and production use, but remain in very good condition overall.
