9 pieces coin silver flatware marked for J.B. Akin, working Danville, KY, 1850-1860+. Includes two ladles (9 1/2" and 7" L, both with fiddle tipt ends and twisted shafts, one with gilt-washed bowl); 1 sugar spoon with shell bowl and fiddle tipt end; 1 table or serving spoon; 1 dessert spoon, and 4 teaspoons, all with oval fiddle tipt ends. All with incuse marks J.B. AKIN (tablespoon has additional horse head and chevron psuedohallmark for maker James Watts of Philadelphia). 7.74 oz troy. Reference: Boultinghouse, Marquis. Condition Report: Edge of end has been worn or cut down on the largest ladle. The teaspoons have significant denting and two of the teaspoons have tears to bowls. Other items in very good condition, most monogrammed.
