It was created in the 1880s by master carpet weaver Haji Jalili. After the fall of the Safavid Dynasty, the once-famous carpet weaving industry of Persia fell into a period of decline. In the 1880s, a group of master carpet weavers decided to attempt to revive the industry and return it to its former glory.The attempts of these master weavers were a success, and soon the carpets of Persian weavers were once again finding their ways into the interiors of fine homes throughout the world. The European and American markets fell in love with them.
