~ 9ct Gold Omega Trench Watch c1928 ~
A lovely quality 9ct gold trench watch by Omega dating to 1928 with a manual movement dating to 1923.
Omega supplied the Ministry of Defence during both WW1 & WW2 with watches for the troops. Though not strictly a war time piece, having been manufactured between the wars, this watch still bears all the same features and design as those used in both wars.
The watch has a circular 9ct gold case with wide bezel.
It has a white dial with black Arabic numerals and an outer minutes ring.
The dial has two blued steel hands and features a subsidiary seconds dial at the six o'clock position.
The dial is named Omega below the company logo and also reads 'Swiss Made'.
The case has a hinged back, hallmarked inside for 9ct Gold, Birmingham, 1928 with a makers stamp of 'ALD' and is also marked 'Dennison Watch Case Co. Ltd' with a serial no. of '405093 C'.
The watch has a 15 jewels manual movement named 'Omega Watch Co. Swiss'. It has a serial no. of '6950015' which dates the movement to 1923.
The watch comes on a vintage brown leather strap.
~ Dimensions ~
The dial has a diameter of 25mm while the watch measures 30mm across the bezel (33mm including crown).
The watch has a length of 23cm (9 inches).
It weighs 29.5g.
~ Condition ~
The dial is quite clean with only some light marks. The crystal has only a few light scratches.
The case has a couple of dings to the back but is otherwise in a nice condition with only light wear.
The strap is a bit worn but still functional.
Overall this is a lovely example of its kind with only light wear commensurate with age.
It is in good working order.
