A 1796 Pattern Life Guard Officer's Full-Dress Sword
By Moore, Late Bicknell & Moore, Old Bond Str., London, Circa 1830
With fullered blade (minor rust staining) double fullered at the double-edge point, regulation gilt-copper hilt with boatshell-guard and moulded borders, swelling rear quillon, knuckle-guard with inner finger-loop and screwed to the globular pommel, the latter with knurled button finial engraved with owner's initials 'DS', a Duke's coronet above, and grip bound with twisted silver wire, in its black leather scabbard (some crazing) with re-gilt locket and chape, the former with maker's details in a rectangle on one side and frog-hook on the other
