With bright curved fullered blade double-edged at the point, the forte on one side etched 'Tho. Gill's Warranted Never to Fail', regulation steel stirrup hilt with bevelled pointed langets, lobed rear quillon, bevelled knuckle-guard with slot for a sword-knot, faceted pommel and back-piece in one, and ribbed leather-covered grip bound with twisted silver wire, in its steel scabbard (minor dents and light speckled pitting) with two split-rings for suspension
