A 1796 pattern light cavalry trooper's sword, the 32" curved blade engraved 'Gill's Warranted' with wire bound leather grip, steel stirrup knuckle bow and turn down quillon, with double ring steel scabbard, overall length 98.5cm.Condition Report Leather grips cracked and perished, very minor patches of surface pitting to knuckle guard. Blade has several nicks in cutting edge, blade and scabbard tarnished with a few minor patches of surface pitting, otherwise overall good condition. No jiggle on pommel, scabbard measures 86.5cm. Wire on grip is intact. Blade is 3.5cm in height at the hilt and 9mm thick and has a height of 4cm at the widest point near the tip. - Please note that this lot is not suitable for our in-house postage service.
