A 19TH C. FRENCH BRONZE MOUNTED CABINET SIGNED DIEHL

[ translate ]

Charles Guillaume Diehl (1811-1885)

Circa 1860

The finely shaped marble top with coved edge enclosed by a dentilated bronze frame on conforming case with serpentine front and sides, ormolu bronze 3/4 columns each side of the single door with pronounced bow shape mounted by an equally bowed oval porcelain plaque with fine hand painted scene of lovers in 18th century garb framed in ormolu bronze, the bronze-mounted base raised on turned wood toupie feet and original casters, exotic bird's eye and other veneers overall with inlays of mother-of-pearl, brass and abalone, the hand engraved maker's mark of DIEHL Michelle le Comte PARIS on the door lock.

Measures 46h x 47w x 17 inches deep.

Please be aware that this lot is too large to ship by conventional carrier such as UPS, USPS or FedEx and will instead require local pick-up, delivery by a freight carrier or delivery by a blanket-wrap shipper. The cost most likely will not be low.

We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
Condition Report: Very good condition, noting some inlay losses and amateur repairs, wood separations with age, minor scattered veneer flaking at a few limited edges, very light marble staining, wear and scuffs to edges. There are no issues of damage, wear, major replacement or repair.
