A gold-damascened and etched steel mirror, Qajar Persia 19th century The mirror case of circular shape with scalloped rim, mounted on a crescent-shaped frame terminating with curled volutes, resting on a staff on a dome-shaped base with scalloped rim, both the base and the back of the mirror etched with a variety of figural motifs depicting court banquets, musicians and youths in the wilderness, the hinged opening circular front panel decorated with a gold-damascened arabesque motif, the scalloped rim with pseudo-calligraphic cartouches with stylised auspicious inscriptions like Ya Allah, repeated also on the back of the mirror. 24.5cm diam. and 57cm highClick here to share:
