A 19TH CENTURY RUBY AND DIAMOND BROOCH, the round central ruby, surrounded by old cut diamonds, set within an open frame of four round rubies and old cut diamonds, total weight of diamonds estimated approx. 4.30cts, total weight of rubies estimated approx. 3.20cts, all set in unmarked white metal to a yellow metal backing and frame (tests as approx. 18ct gold), pin with indistinct mark (possibly continental), 28mm diameter, (10g), in fitted case
Condition Report: Central cluster approx. 41mm diameter. Rubies are vibrant raspberry red with good translucency and some typical inclusions. Diamonds are bright, lively and well matched.
