A 19th century cut glass globe-and-shaft shaped silver-mounted claret jug; the mounts in earlier style and the dual handle pulling back to open the hinged top, pierced finial with the masked head of Bacchus flanked by fruit in relief, the faceted glass body engraved with flowers, thistles, flowers, leaves and other foliate decoration (internal chip/blemish to inside of glass bowl), the silver mounts by Charles James Edington and assayed London (probably 1845) (28.5cm high)
