A 19th century mahogany King Louis Philippe semainier chest of drawers, the rectangular black marble top above a front fitted with a frieze drawer, above six graduated drawers flanked by tapered columns capped with gilt metal head-and-shoulder busts of Egyptian-style form. Height 59.5" (151cm), width 31.25" (79.25cm).

PROVENANCE Private Collection. Bought by the current owner from Jean Yves Mock, the legal heir of Erica Brausen who founded the Hanover Gallery in Mayfair. Items inherited by Mock from the private apartments of Brausen.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The Hanover Gallery represented up and coming artists of the 20th century, including Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud.

- Splits to sides with some having wax infill.
