A 65-piece set of Victorian silver flatware with 2 additions, mark of Francis Higgins III, London 1888, 'Old English' pattern, engraved with the crest of WADHAM, comprising 11 table forks, 12 tablespoons, 12 dessert forks, 11 dessert spoons, 10 teaspoons, 4 salt spoons, 2 basting spoons, 2 sauce ladles and a soup ladle, together with a further table fork, mark of Charles Boyton (II), London 1894 and a further dessert spoon, mark of Charles Boyton (III), London 1903, 3990.1g (128ozt) gross (67) This flatware was received as a wedding gift by Gerard Anstis Wadham and Elizabeth Dorothea Philip on the occasion of their marriage on June 21st 1921 at Marlborough Church. Gerard Wadham was a descendant of Sir Nicholas and Lady Dorothea Wadham - founders, in 1610, of Wadham College, Oxford.
