Of characteristic Naue II Group I form with bifurcate pommel and flanged guard, the waisted grip and stepped bolster indicating a Balkan variant. The blade expanding toward the tip, with slight central ridge. C. 800 B.C.E. Good excavated condition. This example was acquired in the region of Split, now Croatia, during the 1940s.
