with appliqué and metal thread embroidery

approximately 175 by 110cm; 5ft. 9in., 3ft. 7in.

Condition Report:
Maroon niche ground is later inset. Overall fading to fabrics. Some losses of applique motifs eg top left border as visible in the photograph. Metal thread ribbon flanking sides of niche generally now lanking metal thread, especially in lower parts of columns - visible in photograph. Foundation textile discoloured. Panel might benefit from a professional clean. Braided fringe attached to lower two thirds on each side. silk and metal thread backing later.
