A BAVARIAN HUNTING SWORD, 19TH CENTURY AND LATER with early tapering blade double-edged towards the point, etched and gilt with trophies-of-arms, scrolling foliage and the crowned Royal cypher 'L' on a blued panel on each face, white metal hilt cast and chased in low relief, comprising down-turned shell-guard decorated with oak foliage, quillons with hound's head terminals, integral grip applied with the gilt Royal cypher en suite with the blade, in its leather-covered wooden scabbard, the locket and chape each decorated with foliage and trophies-of-hunting, the former inscribed 'Johann Stroblberger, Carlsthor in Munchen' 63.5 cm; 24 5/8 in blade
