A beautiful and rare karabela type sabre
dating: circa 1800 provenance: Ottoman Empire, Wide, curved, single-and false-edged blade with 'T'-back, in damask. Silver hilt, finely engraved and nielloed with floral motifs, quillon with langets, quillons curved toward the blade and ending in an animal's head. Wooden scabbard covered with original fabric and with silver mounts, decorated en suite with the grip. length 84.8 cm.
