A BELLE ÉPOQUE GILT BRASS LANTERN CLOCK WITH BIRD FINIAL, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the animalier style bird crouched just before flight on a domed lid within arched pediments of anthemia fronds and scrolls, above a beveled glazed window opening to an enameled Arabic numeral dial centering a relief medallion of a fairy playing a trumpet to the moon seated on blossoming branches, the case with floral bouquet encrusted medallions, raised on scrolled bracket feet. Height: 13 1/2" Width: 7" Depth: 7" Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.
Condition Report: Some patina throughout, mostly on lid and finial, cracks to porcelain, no key, no markings observed, but overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
