A BLUE-GROUND INFORMAL 'DRAGON' ROBE, MANG'AO
Mid-19th century
Finely worked in satin-stitch and gold-wrapped threads with eight writhing five-clawed dragons amongst ruyi cloud scrolls, bats, crane medallions and Daoist emblems, above a lishui border and crashing waves tossed with flower vases and auspicious emblems.
