A BLUE-GROUND SILK EMBROIDERED 'DRAGON' ROBE, JIFU
19th century
Finely worked in couched gold and polychrome threads with nine five-clawed dragons in pursuit of the flaming pearl, amongst billowing ruyi clouds, cranes and bats and scattered precious objects, all above a wide lishui border and crashing waves, the hems and cuffs with further dragon and cloud designs.

Condition
Fading to the front of the robe.Light wear.The front flap of the robe is held in place with a few spaced stitches along the edge of the border running from the neck and down the left side. These can easily be removed.
