A BLUE-GROUND SILK EMBROIDERED DRAGON ROBE, JIFU
Late Qing Dynasty
Worked in bright polychrome and couched gold threads with nine five-clawed dragons pursuing flaming pearls amidst clusters of vaporous clouds interspersed with bats, the Daoist Emblems and flying cranes, all reserved on a rich blue ground above the terrestrial diagram with lishui stripes at the hem, repeated at the sleeves.
