A BRONZE FIGURE OF A WALKING BUDDHA, SUKHOTHAI STYLE
Thailand, mid-19th to early 20th century. Cast with his left hand raised in abhaya mudra and his right hand extended along the body in an elegant curve, wearing a sanghati with undulating sleeves, his hair arranged in rows of tight curls surmounted by a flame finial.
Provenance: Swiss trade.
Condition: Good condition with wear, casting flaws, small nicks, few remnants of gilt, and the base slightly dented.
