A BRONZE JIZAI OKIMONO OF A CRAB
Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century
The crustacean separately cast and assembled, the legs and claws fully articulated, the surface worked to resemble the crab's natural shell, patinated to a reddish-brown finish; signed Myochin Ieyoshi saku; with a wood storage box inscribed Kani Myochin Ieyoshi saku Nyonyoan. Approx., 16cm (6¼in) wide. (2).
