A Grand Tour miniature bronze model of Vendome Column pointed with Napoleon's statue in the Place Vendome. This well-detailed figurine probably also served as a thermometer. A fluid tube is visible inside, but the front bar with the signs is lost."Grand tour" is a designation adopted for compulsory trips, which in the XVIII-XIX centuries the sons of European aristocrats (and later the offspring of wealthy bourgeois families) performed for educational purposes. Similar figurines were made as souvenirs for travelers.
