A BURMESE REPOUSSÉ SILVER CHARGER Burma (Myanmar), 19th century Of circular shape, on plain base chased in high relief, with a wide splayed rim, the central roundel with an interior courtly scene with a prince and a knelt visitor in front of him, the scene surrounded by six lobed cartouches filled with mythical warriors, two with bows and arrows, one with sword and shield, the remaining three without arms, clad in typical Burmese dresses, on a maritime landscape ground, on the rim scenes from myths and folk stories, possibly the Jataka Tales, birds near the rim interspersed with lush landscapes, the back with a mounting hook and an inventory sticker from 'Preziosi e Oggetti d'Arte, P.L. Beldi, Torino' dated 1991, 44.5cm diam.
