With bright two-stage barrel octagonal at the breech and with bulbous muzzle, and retained by seven engraved brass barrel bands, the rear one carrying a foliate copper back-sight, plain tang, characteristic lock inlaid with silver decoration, figured full stock with steel-mounted 'fish-tail' butt, the latter with incised decoration on both sides and with brass inlays (two missing), the fore-stock covered in brass punched with scrollwork, exposed scroll trigger, and steel ramrod
