Ball Watch Co., Cleveland, Ohio, a Ball Waltham model 1899 "Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen", 16 size, 19 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, circular damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, gold jewel settings, and whiplash micrometric regulator in a white gold filled, engraved, Ball Model screw back and bezel open face case with stirrup bow, arabic numeral, single sunk white enamel dial with polychrome BRT insignia, blued steel spade hands, serial #B212239, with red silk and velvet lined Ball Watch Co. box.
Condition Report: CASE: Case has housed another movement; Back with two shallow dents; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Interior of back with case screw gouge; Band and edge of back with significant brassing at 5 - 9:00; Bow with minor wear; Crown with wear from contact with pendant. DIAL: A bit dirty, otherwise very good. HANDS: Minute and seconds replaced. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine scratches on plate; Short scratch and marring at edge above crown wheel; Balance cock with very fine scratches and a more significant short scratch; Regulator spring with specks of oxide; Very dirty. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks). Box good, with minor wear, circa 1905
