Ancient carved wooden bellows with bronze blower.

The bellows is sculpted on both sides, in one part there is a mask surrounded by volutes while in the other part there is a gem always surrounded by volutes. All finely carved in wood. The two parts end in the striped bronze mouthpiece where the air comes out.

Excellent external condition, patina maintained. The leather of the case, however, has some flaws (see photo) which can be restored but deliberately left as is so as not to affect its originality.

Note: The bellows was used to fuel the flames of fireplaces, forges etc. . . , even blacksmiths had one. Through the pressure of the handles air came out of the mouthpiece.
