A Berlin KPM porcelain dessert plate from a royal dinner service
A Berlin KPM porcelain dessert plate from a royal dinner service
Model no. 337. Painted with a large bouquet of wildflowers in the centre. The borders and floral designs gilded, a pale green ribbon around the edge. The flowers on the trelliswork picked out in purple. Blue scepter mark, impressed marks. A restored rim chip. D 25 cm.
Around 1770.
The yellow dinner service for the Potsdam City Palace, which was ordered and delivered in 1770/71, used a slightly modified version, with an entirely openwork border, of the model developed for the Breslau service. The elaborate design of this dessert plate suggests a royal order from the same period.

Berlin Private Collection.
