Model "perlenteller". The centre decorated with copies of paintings in reserves, surrounded by a blue border with stylised red flowers. Blue sceptre mark with KPM, red imperial orb mark, blue I, impressed 2, incised III. D 25.6 cm.
1837 - 44.
Starting in 1837, King Frederick William III presented his grandson Frederick Franz (II) of Mecklenburg-Schwerin with a set of six plates for Christmas every year. The service increased considerably in size until the year 1848, when 50 plates had been produced. Views of Berlin and Potsdam based on contemporary paintings were chosen for the decor.
