A British Small Sword, mid-18th centuryDouble-edged blade of diamond section with a flattened medial ridge. Remains of the original bluing at the forte. Heavy brass vessel with knuckle bow and oval guard plate. Ten-fluted grip and likewise fluted, conical pommel with slightly set-off tang button. Guard with extensive traces of gilding.
