Of russet iron and shallow convex form, the front with central boss and button finial, rivetted to four iron straps each with cusped border and secured by rivets over the remains of a red fabric covering, the interior with two slender iron bracers (pitted overall); a shoulder-defence from a Turkish krug, of rusted iron, late 15th/early 16th century; and a steel shield in 16th century style, of convex form and shaped outline with turned borders, the interior with riveted tubular grip (rust patinated) (3)
