depicting in multicoloured tesserae an eagle standing within a fragmentary tilted square border, the bird facing to its right, with powerful talons, stout body, outstretched wings, and sharply curved beak.
120 by 101 cm., 36 by 9½ in.

Condition Report:
After having been removed from their original substrate, the tesserae were re-laid on a bed of reinforced plaster/cement within an iron frame (the latter now partially corroded).
Minor areas of restoration throughout, where tesserae look slightly jumbled, for example in the proper left wing area.
Modern grout shows between tesserae and where some isolated ones are missing.
Entire surface was polished and waxed.
