The large advertising poster in handsome period oak frame promoting the Chicago and North Western Railway as 'The Only Route to the Black Hills,' with bold lettering, graphics and route map that displays a single large area as 'Dakota', the Dakota Territory was split in two and divided into North and South in 1889, H.C. Wicker retired from the office of Traffic Manager of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad in November of 1889 and Marvin Hughitt was appointed General Manager in 1876 and again in 1880, and president in 1887, dating this squarely in the 1880s, printed by Poole Brothers Printers.
Sight size measures 27.75 x 21.75 with a framed size of 34.75 x 29 inches.
