A CANTON ENAMEL AND GILT-COPPER 'PEACH' BRUSHWASHER, 18TH TO EARLY 19TH CENTURY

China. Well modeled in the form of a peach supported on a leafy branch, the interior finely painted in bright enamels with a blossoming branch bearing two peaches, some leaves painted in light and dark green color to distinguish each side of the leaf, all below a bat in flight, the exterior enameled a bright green transmuting to pink imitating the skin of a ripening peach.

Provenance: Chicago trade. Acquired from a private estate, where it has been kept since almost a century, according to family repute.
Condition: Good condition with some wear, few small cracks and minor associated losses, and few touchups.
