A CARTIER SILVER, BLACK ENAMELLED, JADE AND DIAMOND SET RECTANGULAR HINGE LIDDED BOX

Gilt within, the black enamelled exterior with an applied jade and rose diamond motif to the lid, detailed 1794 Cartier Paris, also Made In England No 35118, import mark London 1933, length 8cm, gross weight 81 grams

Further lubrication to the hinge could improve this situation. There is a dent at the back of the lower part of the box which is visible within, the exterior at this point does not show a chip and may have been restored, slight minor signs of wear to the bottom of the box where the corners touch any surface it is placed on. Interior gilding a little weak, the jade is of medium to dark colour saturation of a fairly even colour, the diamond mount is in good condition, but is rather dirty, some wear to the front edge of the interior of the lid and there are scratched numbers/letter codes above Made in England. Made in England lettering is rather crude, the number which follows this is also a little crude. Box size 7.8cm x 4.4cm x 1.6cm
