A CARVED RED LACQUER 'DA JI' DOUBLE-GOURD VASE
18TH CENTURY
The upper section is carved with four roundels each containing a da (great) character, and the lower section with four roundels each containing a ji (auspiciousness) character, alternating between the Eight Buddhist Emblems amidst foliate peony scroll on a diaper ground. The interior of the neck and foot are lacquered black.
